Pursue Peace

THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL DRIVEN LIFE

Any serious Christian who has thoroughly read their Bible will easily tell you that the Prosperity Gospel is complete heresy- I agree. I have grown up myself often laughing at some of the stuff Joel Osteen and others alike preach, justifying their lavish lifestyles and preaching to thousands that if they believe in God they will be rich and healthy. They tell people to speak things into existence and believe wholeheartedly that anything that is even a slight hardship could never be God's will for their life. We often make jokes and poke fun at the Prosperity Gospel and thats its completely the opposite of what the Bible actually says and what all of the apostles and martyrs went through. But recently I started to notice in my own thinking that even though I fully agree that the Prosperity Gospel is heresy, I still pursue it in my daily life. My basic definition of the Prosperity Gospel is "putting your hope in anything earthly that God didn't promise." I have been not...

My blasé attitude lol

And just like that, a half a year has gone by since I have posted anything here. Honestly I have barely even noticed but am sad to see that I haven't been writing about my experiences as much lately. I guess lately I've gotten a bit of a blasé attitude about life and its hard to want to write and get out of that when life is so routine and predictable. I guess its all worth writing about; even my blasé attitude haha; prolly because at least one person will be able to relate- and that is why I write. In other news, to combat my blasé attitude and boost my career credentials, I am starting an online course in Project Management; I am quite excited because I kinda miss school.

Ever since I finished school and got my new job I have been trying to find something new to chase. I have been taking pleasure in having a calmer pace of life and have enjoyed not really having anything to strive for. I thought that maybe with time something new would come along and my next big thing would just fall into my lap and I would be chasing some new success. Every person I had talked to about this told me something that didn't really satisfy my wonder- everything was so earth centered- "pursue traveling, or marriage, or education"- all things that still focused on me and finding earthly success. This past week I had the blessing of hosting someone in my home for the Pastor's Conference at my church and finally someone told me something else. I was so surprised that such simple advice had not already been given to me and that after such a long struggle, I hadn't thought of it myself. My next big chase is... to glorify God in every single situation of my ...
