Thoughts from a guest blogger

"Do not Fear."
"What? Not even a little?"
"No, do not fear."
"Surely I may show some measure of fear?"
"No, do not fear."
Tie this knot tight around the throat of unbelief: "Do not fear." "Do not
fear" today. "Do not fear" tomorrow. "Do not fear" any day of your life.
When fear comes, drive it away and give it no space.
When the weather is rough, passengers on a ship can be comforted by the
captain's calm behavior. One simple-minded soul said, "I am sure there is
no cause to fear, for I heard the captain whistling." Surely if the captain
is at ease, the passengers can be at peace. If the Lord Jesus is at the
helm singing, do not fear. "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him"
(Ps.37:7). "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, our God will come with
vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you"
(Is.35:4).
--Charles Spurgeon

I think this would already be a complete post but before I go I wanted to add my thoughts to how this specific truth helps me daily:)  Looking around at my life, there are many things to fear or be anxious about.  Challenges in school, uncertainty in my future, ministries at church, life in the family, relationships with friends, finances and the list goes on...  How good it is to remind myself the clear truth that God holds everything in His hand, He knows my future, and will accomplish His good work in me.  Praise God there is no room to fear when we are held in the His great hand.

Well this is awkward...

Hey guys! Well since my name has already been announced in the previous blog post I guess I need no introduction ;) My name is Tanya and I consider myself to be a good friend of Vicky's. We met a few years back through my sister because she kept talking about a funny, nice girl named Vicky. To see for myself what all this rave was about I met her. But you know what's funny? I cannot remember the day we really talked or when we became such good friends. It just happened. Just like that. If I had to describe Vicky in one word, one of the first words that pops into my head is genuine . She is that person you can talk to with whatever is on your mind, someone you can turn to when you have questions, and definitely someone who will not judge but be there to guide you and offer help. And I am so thankful for that. Looking back, I can see that our friendship developed rather spontaneously (or maybe I just have bad memory lol). But I do see now that God orchestrated this friendship...
Hey guys, please go read the following article about the unconstitutional mandates of ObamaCare and the company Hobby Lobby who refuses to comply with the laws because they are a violation of Christian beliefs. I feel very soon it will be very difficult for Christians to be owners of businesses if things continue to proceed as they are now. Praise God for the Green family  who stand up for His truth and make it known that  they will not sin against the Almighty even if it will cost them their business. It is important for us to know what the government requires of us and even most important to know what God requires of us. It is our responsibility to stand up against that which violates our obedience to God. Please pray for the Green family as they go through this difficult time, that they may remain faithful to the Lord even if it costs them everything. Also pray for our government so that the people making the decisions may be wise men who's views correspond...

Cool Things

Was at the Land Bridge with some friends at night when we heard what sounded like deep gunshots, later to realize that the cannon at the Fort was being fired. We noticed candlelight there also so our curious minds just dragged us there. We discovered Campfire and Candlelight at the Fort, and I must say that I was completely blown away. Everyone was dressed up as people from different wars in history and had stations set up to display how certain things would happen back in the day. We got to see a nurses station, and were impressed by the soldiers quarters. I was offered to have my wisdom teeth removed by some scary contraption and the postman was distressed to find that we came without any "men folk" lol. I felt like I was in a movie and was blown away by the attention to detail. Old typewriters, pipes, letters, maps, torn tents, and everything was lit by lanterns. Looking forward to next year. I live in such a cool place with such interesting history.  On the other ha...
